Pep Guardiola ‘agrees’ to coach Man City next season

Bayern Munich manager Pep Guardiola has agreed to join Premier League side Manchester City, according to reports in Qatar.
One of BeIN Sports’s official Twitter accounts tweeted in Arabic that City had reached a “tentative agreement” with Guardiola to coach the team next season.
And the TV station’s Premier League TV presenter Richard Keys soon added on Twitter “Understand the Guardiola verbal agreement with City to be true. And don’t rule out a 100m dollar bid for (Juventus midfielder) Pogba”.
Guardiola, the former Barcelona manager, joined Bayern at the start of the 2013/14 season and won the league and cup double in his first season.
This season he also led Bayern to the Bundesliga title, with four games left, but his side lost to Borussia Dortmund in the German Cup semi-final.
And his two seasons in Germany have been characterised by failure on the biggest stage. In 13/14, they were beaten 5-0 on aggregate by Real Madrid in the semi-finals of the Uefa Champions League while, last week, Barcelona beat them 3-0 in the first leg of this season’s semi-final, leaving a mountain to climb in Tuesday’s return game.
City, meanwhile, failed to defend the Premier League title and are now competing with Arsenal to finish second in the table. They lost in the last 16 of the Champions League and suffered early defeats in England’s two cup competitions.
Manager Manuel Pellegrini’s future, and that of several of his squad, has been the subject of weeks of speculation.
